Fun Intro to Tennis acquaints or reacquaints adults with a sport that combines physical activity and achievement while meeting and socializing with others. F.I.T. is designed to promote FUN while learning the fundamental skills that lead to playing tennis including stroke techniques, scoring, and the rules of the game.
Tennis is unique in promoting healthy activity with social interactions and fostering friendship, and it can be practiced well into our senior years.
F.I.T. addresses the following three barriers:
Physical Conditioning – Adult obesity is a national epidemic that continues to grow almost unchecked. Currently nearly one in three Americans struggle with obesity. In Pinellas County, more than 63% of adults are overweight. That’s more than half the county population!
Cost – Most families cannot afford the cost of weekly tennis classes, tennis shoes and racquets, never mind memberships to tennis clubs. Tennis is an excellent sport to learn and continue for a lifetime, but too many individuals quit after a few trips to the local tennis club because of the cost or because they don’t see any improvement. We provide all necessary equipment to get started (racquets, tennis balls, training aids, etc) as well as professional instruction.
Complexity – Beginners who do find someone to give them tennis lessons are taught antiquated techniques by well-meaning but ineffective tennis instructors still practicing methods for the past. Eager students quickly lose their enthusiasm when they find it difficult and frustrating to improve. Mo Tennis Coaching takes the complexity out of learning to play by teaching modern tennis techniques that are intuitive, natural and efficient. Students in F.I.T. progress from knowing little or nothing about the game to being able to rally and play out points within the six week program. Covid-19 protocol observed.
